What insurance providers do you accept?

We are in-network with most major insurance companies and are actively working to become a network provider for additional networks. The Level Up intake team will guide you through the process of getting services started. We start by verifying your insurance coverage and benefits, then we'll submit the request for the initial ABA assessment, after conducting the assessment we'll discuss the treatment plan with you to make sure it's perfect for your child's needs, and finally we'll submit the treatment plan to the insurance provider with the request for ABA services. We’ll also handle the billing for our services directly with the insurance company, to make things simple for you.

If you don’t see your insurance provider listed above, please contact us at 737-708-8003 to discuss options for getting ABA services. Insurance companies understand how important it is to get your child the services they need, and most are willing to negotiate individual contracts (single-case agreements) to provide reimbursement for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services by out-of-network providers.

Does Insurance Cover ABA Therapy?

If you’re considering ABA therapy, you may be wondering if it’s covered by insurance. The good news is that ABA therapy is typically covered by insurance, although there may be some restrictions and limitations depending on your specific policy. Most insurance companies will require a medical autism diagnosis, along with a referral from a physician before they will cover ABA. If you’re not sure you have what you need, we are happy to help.

The type and amount of insurance coverage your child can receive is determined by your individual insurance plan, as well as your child’s needs. Generally, state funded insurance plans must comply with all state laws regarding ABA therapy for qualifying individuals. Self-funded or federal insurance plans are not required to follow state law, as they are regulated by federal laws. All 50 states currently have laws in place requiring some level of coverage for individuals with an autism diagnosis; however, the amount of coverage can vary by state. In most states, Medicaid also covers ABA services for individuals under the age of 21, when ABA treatment is deemed to be medically necessary by their physician.

What is Required for my Insurance to Cover ABA Therapy?

Thankfully, ABA therapy is typically covered by insurance, although there may be some restrictions and limitations depending on your specific policy. Insurance providers typically require a formal evaluation for and a current diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder for ABA therapy services to be covered. Insurance providers require that a physician (e.g., pediatrician, pediatric psychiatrist, or neurologist) or a licensed psychologist complete the evaluation and determine the diagnosis.

Additionally, the child's physician or psychologist must send us a referral for an ABA evaluation/assessment, and ABA therapy that recommends that ABA therapy is medically necessary for your child. This diagnosis is required in order for us to submit your child's authorization requests and billing claims to your insurance provider. If you’re not sure you have what you need, we are here to help you through this process.
